    SoS - Screams of Silence

The first solo exhibition of Irina Kuzmenko, SoS – Screams of Silence, curated by the art historian Eleni Gatsa, opens a dialogue on human survival, personal development and the need to deal with the consequences of hostilities with conscience and compassion.

According to the curator, the artist starting from her personal experiences, uses elements and extracts from places and moments that are important parts of her memories. Through her works, she seeks to reconstruct and renew these memories, creating a vivid narrative that explores human existence and attempts to express people’s reaction to disasters. In a dramatic and emotional way, through a process of transformation through the brave act of painting, she encourages us to approach the theme of war and the disasters it causes.

Irina Kuzmenko’s work draw inspiration from her homeland, which is going through difficult times due to war conflicts. The artist uses painting as a means to emotionally express her reaction to these critical moments.

In the mindst of a time when peace is a precious value, art is emerging as a powerful means of raising awareness and highlighting the need for conflict prevention.
